Planning Wi-Fi, 3G and Bluetooth networks on tablet or smartphone
Benoit Fleury, iBwave VP and Product Line Management, talks with us about the new Mobile version of their powerful product for wireless network designing.
Howdy Benoit, let’s start by talking about your company, which is not very well known to the public.
iBwave was born 13 years ago in Montreal, Canada, to satisfy a precise need: System Integrators that deals with planning wireless systems more and more complex without a software tool to help them. The company has grown a lot since then and now it aims to a broader target which include Telco and higher-profile companies. iBwave crafts softwares to design wireless networks of any kind: Wi-Fi, 3G, LTE, Bluetooth. Our software supports and wireless architecture and is vendor independent.
The real challenge is being a manager and work with the DevOps logic
Interview with Massimo Fatato, Red Hat EMEA ICT Vice President
Massimo has been with Red Hat since a few months ago after being with another big player, HPE.
Ciao Massimo, how have been these first months in a new company?
Well, my choice of going to Red Hat is the result of a careful pondering and one of the elements that positively influenced my decision has been reading of the book “The Open Organization” by Jim Whitehurst, Red Hat CEO. In particular I’m feeling close to the continuous improvement that Jim advocates. Being always ready to change the way of working with the goal of continuous improvement is really fundamental.
IoT as a tool for companies
Interview with James Maynard of Fujitsu to talk about the potentialities of the Internet of Things as a way to improve safety and data analysis in professional environments.
IoT is an actual and important theme that, unfortunately, is only considered within the consumer sphere. Examples are several: a digital scale that is connected to the Internet and saves data, an appliance that upgrades its washing programmes or independently calls for support, and so forth.
In our interview with James Maynard (Offering Management Director Global IoT & Innovation of Fujitsu) at MWC we’ve instead talked about an IoT conceived not just for an appliance or a gadget, but also for the business world, with a particular carefulness about the concept of safety.
A single company for the whole IT world: this is Dell’s vision
Interview with Robin Kuepers, EMEA DataCenter Solution & Marketing Director
Robin, I was just here in Barcelona last October at VMworld, when Michael Dell spoke his message about the acquisition of EMC. I know that for some legislative reason you can’t openly talk about that and must wait, but what do you feel about Dell’s future regarding this colossal acquisition?
I can confirm we can’t talk about that, unfortunately we must wait for the legislative procedures in all the countries where Dell is present. However I can say that we are facing a great opportunity, also considering the good compatibility level between our commercial offering and EMC’s.

During the last few days, two important news saw the light of day in GURU advisor: we’re talking about the two sections dedicated to the word of the day and to the download of the day.
In the former section we’ll present, each day, terms and acronyms (the IT world is full of these!): you can widen your vocabulary by discovering new terms or by improving your knowledge of what you already know.
With the download of the day section, we’ll show with useful software and tools, quite often essentials for an IT technician or professional.
With the February issue, our Virtual Private Server (VPS) series comes to an end. The amount of available information is quite important and spans from the choice of the best offer to performances evaluation and basic troubleshooting in Windows and Linux environments.
Our journey in the ZFS world continues, and this month we’ll talk about one of the most widespread and appreciated system that support it: FreeNAS by iXsystems.
Lots of you love to experiment and toy around, in particular with the VMware platform. Instead of using another whitebox, why don’t use a real server, provided being cheap, quiet and compact? We tried for you the Primergy TX 1310 M1, the tower server entry level proposal by Fujitsu.
GURU advisor will be at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona from February 22nd to 25th 2016!
MWC is one of the biggest conventions about the worldwide mobile market, we'll be present for the whole event and we'll keep you posted with news and previews from the congress.
